NHS App

Using the NHS App

The NHS App is a convenient way to manage your healthcare from your smartphone or computer. Through the app, you can:

  • Order repeat prescriptions
  • View your medical record
  • Access test results
  • Manage your GP appointments
  • Find trusted NHS information and advice

Since the app was introduced more widely, we’ve had a few common queries from patients. We’ve included some helpful guidance below.

Ordering medication

Some patients have noticed that a medication they usually order does not appear on their repeat list. In most cases, the medication has not been removed. Instead, this is usually because of the timing of your request:

• Repeat medication will only appear within 10 days of the due date.

• If you try to request medication earlier than this, it will not show on your list.

If you are still unable to see a medication you normally request, please contact the practice for support.

Adding notes to requests

When placing a prescription request, please avoid adding additional notes unless they are clinically important. For example:

✅ Useful note: “Please supply in liquid form as unable to swallow tablets.”

❌ Not needed: “Thank you very much.”

We truly appreciate your kind messages, but unnecessary notes slow down the prescribing process and can delay prescriptions being issued for all patients.
